![]() ![]() Eventually, it was revealed that the Fourth Mizikage was being manipulated by someone but Kiri wasn’t sure by whom. The ways of Kiri’s academy graduation were discontinued after Zabuza (who was not a student at the time) killed off an entire graduating class. Obito took control over him with genjutsu and during his reign, Kiri was a time of darkness, with corruption plaguing those in charge and the pursuit of power becoming everyone’s intention. The three-tailed beast was then sealed into Yagura, who then became the fourth Mizikage. After Madara’s death, Obito took on his identity. Obito witnessed Kakashi killing Rin and was filled with sadness and hatred which led to him joining Madara. Rin was aware of this and told Kakashi to attack her to prevent this. When Kakashi rescued Rin, Kiri sent their men after them but it was a façade as in reality, they wanted Rin to lose control and release the Three tails to destroy Konoha. During the Third Great Shinobi War, he planned on gaining Obito’s allegiance by making everyone see that Kiri had kidnapped Rin and sealed the Three-tailed beast inside her. Madara Uchiha saw this and started manipulating the events that took place in Kiri. For the students to graduate (only for the lower caste), the students were supposed to fight each other to their deaths and only the last one standing could advance to the ranks of the Ninjas. Over time Kirigakure was known as the ‘Village of the Bloody Mist’ due to the Kirigakure Academy. The lowest caste was not given a lot of importance and was sent on a dangerous mission to keep them busy and prevent them from revolting. The lowest were the people whose families were defeated on the battlefields. The second in line was the families who supported Kirigakure on the battlefields. On the top were the people whose family lineage stemmed from Kirigakure. Kirigakure's society was split into a caste system since the village's founding. After the formation of their village, Hashirama Senju (when he was the Hokage) sold the Tailed Beasts to Kiri as a sign of friendship and to ensure a balance of power amongst their new villages. Kiri was founded after the long periods of war by the first Mizukage.
